Growing up in Illinois, Kenny Kuhns would stack countless hay bales onto wagons and into barns on the dairy farm. At a very young age, he developed a passion for getting fresh hay to the barn before the rain came. Years later, this passion helped him identify a substantial but unmet need he was hearing from hay farmers all around him: they needed a more reliable and efficient process for small square baling, specifically for the horse market. Equipment at the time was optimized to handle bales sized for general livestock but innovation was needed for the horse market.

Kenny knew that there was a simpler solution than the hydraulic and electronic-assisted accumulators already on the market. So in the summer of 2002, with faith and persistence, he and a local fabricator developed a design for a bale accumulator that was fully automatic and mechanical. It would soon grab the attention of farmers across the globe.

Norden Mfg is forever inspired by this history, propelled by innovation, and driven by a wish to improve the lives of our family, our farming community, and our agricultural industry. We are motivated by our promise to provide affordable equipment that is simple to run, easy to repair, and built for long and reliable use.

Just as Kenny encountered days when the rainfall was inevitable and the hay was ruined, Norden Mfg understands the risks and obstacles farmers confront daily. This knowledge motivates them to continue innovating, designing, and manufacturing more sustainable solutions to solve problems throughout the hay-baling process and the industry as a whole. Norden Mfg now has three main areas of business:

1. Innovative equipment available for small square bale handling as well as a leading design of
   wheel rakes.
2. A new line of utility attachments.
3. Custom fabrication work for others.
